Drain Valves

A drain valve empties a tank, bilge, sump or low point in a system. The self closing pattern is spring returned, so it drains only while held open and shuts the moment it is released. On a vessel or a tank installation that behaviour is a safety feature: an open drain left unattended can flood a space or discharge to somewhere it should not.

Sizes here are small bore, around DN20 to DN40 at PN16, which suits drain and sampling connections rather than emptying a tank quickly. Bodies combine bronze, ductile iron and cast steel depending on the medium, with bronze preferred where the drain carries seawater or a corrosive liquid.

When specifying, confirm the bore, the medium, the pressure rating and the discharge arrangement, including whether the outlet needs a hose connection or a threaded fitting. Share the duty on an enquiry and we can propose a configuration.
