About air valves
Air valves protect pipelines by venting air that would otherwise collect at high points and by admitting air to break the vacuum that forms on drain-down. Combining kinetic (large-orifice) and automatic (small-orifice) functions, they prevent air locks, restricted flow, accelerated corrosion and the pressure surges caused by uncontrolled air movement. Bodies are typically ductile iron with resilient internals to water-supply standards such as EN 1074-4. State the bore, working pressure and medium and we can recommend a suitable valve.
