Cookie Policy

What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website you visit. They are widely used to make websites work or to provide information to website operators.
Cookies we use
We use strictly necessary functional storage to make the site work, and Google Analytics to measure how the site is used. Analytics cookies are set only if you accept them. We do not use advertising cookies or social media tracking.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics: distinguishes visitors to measure site usage | 2 years | Analytics (only if you accept) |
| _ga_<id> | Google Analytics: keeps session state for the measurement property | 2 years | Analytics (only if you accept) |
Your choice. When you first visit, we ask whether to allow analytics. No analytics cookies are set until you accept, and if you reject, none are set and any that exist are removed. Whichever you choose, we send Google a limited cookieless signal to count visits in aggregate (see below). You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer.
Analytics and Google
With your consent we use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, to understand which pages are visited and how visitors reach the site. Google acts as our data processor. Data may be transferred to Google servers outside the European Economic Area under Google’s standard contractual clauses and its certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Even if you do not accept analytics cookies, we send Google a limited, cookieless signal for each page you view: your IP address (used to derive an approximate country, then discarded by Google), your browser type and the address of the page. Nothing is stored on your device, and this signal cannot identify you or link your visits together. Google calls this Consent Mode. To send nothing to Google at all, install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
We use these statistics only in aggregate to improve the site. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal data, and Google’s privacy policy for how Google processes it.
Browser storage we use
In addition to the cookie above, this Site stores a small amount of data in your browser’s local storage to make the catalogue work:
- efc_basket: holds the items you have added to My RFQ, including any spec sheets you attach. This data stays on your device and is sent to us only when you submit the request.
- efc_cookie_consent: records whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies, so we do not ask again on every visit.
How to control cookies
To change or withdraw your analytics choice at any time, use the Cookie settings link in the footer. You can also refuse or delete cookies in your browser. Doing so will not affect your ability to use this website, as we do not rely on cookies for any core functionality. Instructions for common browsers:
- Chrome: Settings › Privacy and security › Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings › Privacy & Security › Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Settings › Privacy › Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings › Cookies and site permissions
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if we change how we use cookies. The “last updated” date above will reflect any revision.
