Description
The A300 is a hydraulically operated slow-closing check valve built on the A900 main valve body. On pump trip or demand reversal the main valve closes slowly under hydraulic control, preventing the pressure surge associated with rapid check valve slam. The closing rate is set by a needle valve in the pilot circuit and can be adjusted in the field to match the pipeline deceleration requirement. No separate pilot valve is required: the hydraulic circuit is self-contained within the body.
